In coastal communities of Bangladesh, women and adolescent girls are living with the growing impacts of climate change, disasters, and gender-based violence. In this challenging reality, the Women-Led Community Centre (WLCC) has become a safe and supportive space for women and girls to seek protection, guidance, skills, and hope.
This centre is more than just a service point. It is a place where women can share their experiences, receive support, build confidence, learn new skills, and take steps toward a safer and more independent life. Through counselling, referral support, awareness sessions, skills development, and community-based engagement, the centre is helping women strengthen their coping, adaptive, and transformative capacities.
This video highlights why the Women-Led Community Centre was established, what services women and girls receive, and how this initiative is transforming lives in climate-affected coastal communities.

নারী নেতৃত্বাধীন কমিউনিটি সেন্টার: উপকূলীয় বাংলাদেশের নারীদের জীবন বদলে দিচ্ছে
বাংলাদেশের উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন, দুর্যোগ এবং জেন্ডারভিত্তিক সহিংসতার ঝুঁকির মধ্যে বসবাস করছে অনেক নারী ও কিশোরী। এমন কঠিন বাস্তবতায় নারী নেতৃত্বাধীন কমিউনিটি সেন্টার (WLCC) হয়ে উঠেছে তাদের জন্য একটি নিরাপদ, সহায়ক ও আশার জায়গা।
এই সেন্টার শুধু একটি সেবা কেন্দ্র নয়। এটি এমন একটি স্থান, যেখানে নারীরা নিজেদের অভিজ্ঞতা ও সমস্যার কথা বলতে পারেন, প্রয়োজনীয় সহায়তা পেতে পারেন, আত্মবিশ্বাস তৈরি করতে পারেন, নতুন দক্ষতা শিখতে পারেন এবং নিরাপদ ও স্বনির্ভর জীবনের পথে এগিয়ে যেতে পারেন। কাউন্সেলিং, রেফারেল সেবা, সচেতনতা সেশন, দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন এবং কমিউনিটি পর্যায়ের কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে এই সেন্টার নারীদের মোকাবিলা, অভিযোজন ও রূপান্তরমূলক সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধিতে সহায়তা করছে।
