In the wake of the devastating Bangladesh Eastern Floods, Young volunteers played a pivotal role in leading immediate humanitarian response and rescue efforts with PRAAN l Participatory Research & Action Network. From distributing cooked meals, baby food, and medical aid to ensuring access to safe drinking water and supporting shelter repairs, these young changemakers were on the frontlines, providing critical assistance to affected communities.

On February 25, 2025, PRAAN, in collaboration with ActionAid Bangladesh, hosted an Experience Sharing Workshop on Youth-Led Humanitarian Response in Noakhali. The event brought together 40 dedicated volunteers from PRAAN and other youth-led organizations who had actively participated in flood response efforts.
The workshop provided a platform for these young leaders to reflect on their experiences, share challenges, discuss successes, and highlight key moments of leadership. Through interactive tools like the “River of Life” and “Problem Tree,” participants mapped their journeys, analyzed challenges, and explored innovative solutions for future disaster response.
For many, this was their first-ever experience in humanitarian work, and their contributions underscored the power of youth-led action. This workshop not only celebrated their resilience and dedication but also equipped them with the skills and knowledge to lead future emergency responses more effectively.
A huge shoutout to all the young volunteers who continue to make a difference! Together, we build stronger, more resilient communities.
