๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ฒ : As an Equity & Inclusion Officer with a focus on community and combating violence against women, you will be responsible for leading and implementing initiatives that promote equity, inclusion, and social justice, with a particular emphasis on addressing and preventing violence against women. You will work closely with community organizations, stakeholders, and internal teams to develop and implement programs that promote gender equality, prevent violence, and create safe and inclusive spaces for women.

๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐:
a. Community Engagement: Collaborate on initiatives and campaigns that raise awareness, provide support, and prevent violence against women. Engage in community outreach, advocacy, and education efforts to promote social change and address systemic issues. Participate in the development of the case management and Psychosocial Support (PSS) tools and resources, GBV information materials, and PSS activities women and girls in target communities, and support their implementation.

b. Program Development: Lead the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that address and prevent violence against women, including but not limited to awareness campaigns, prevention programs, survivor support services, and policy advocacy. Ensure that programs are evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and aligned with best practices. Advocate on behalf of beneficiaries with GBV service providers and other organizations to ensure effective referrals and increased access to services for clients in accordance with their wishes. Prepare regular situation update reports.

c. Training and Education: Provide training, workshops, and educational resources to internal and external stakeholders on topics related to equity, inclusion, and gender equality. Raise awareness and build capacity among employees, volunteers, and community members to prevent violence, promote respectful relationships, and create inclusive environments.

d. Policy and Advocacy: Stay current with laws, regulations, and policies related to gender equality, equity, and inclusion, and advocate for policy changes that promote social justice and prevent violence against women. Engage in policy development and advocacy efforts at the community, regional, and national levels to influence positive change.

e. Gender Based Violence: Initiate, oversee and ensure proper use of the referral pathway in the provision of case management services. Lead weekly case review meetings with case workers. Advocate on behalf of beneficiaries with GBV service providers and other organizations to ensure effective referrals and increased access to services for clients in accordance with their wishes.Ensure the setting up and maintaining beneficiaries’ files and ensure all required documentation in individual case files is completed in a timely manner and according to confidentiality guidelines, GBV guiding principles.

f. Employee Support: Provide support, guidance, and resources to employees and volunteers who may encounter or respond to incidents of violence against women. Offer trauma-informed care and support, and ensure that policies and procedures are in place to address such incidents in a compassionate, fair, and confidential manner.

a. Completed university degree (post-graduate) from an accredited academic institution preferably in Social Work, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Anthropology, Sociology or other related fields;
b. Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in developing and implementing equity, inclusion, and violence prevention programs, preferably in a community or non-profit setting;
c. Deep understanding of gender-based violence, social justice, and intersectional issues related to gender, race, class, and other forms of oppression;
d. Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to gender equality, equity, and social justice;
e. Excellent communication, advocacy, and community engagement skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations and build meaningful relationships;
f. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively;
g. Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and gender equality, and sensitivity to trauma and survivor-centered approaches;
h. Willing to travel if required;
i. Experience supervising psychosocial programs, providing psychosocial support or case management, and/or working on gender-based violence (GBV) and women’s empowerment;
j. Experience supervising and supporting employees.
