Job Purpose  :            We are looking for a Finance Officer to take charge of the financial health of the project `Gender Based Violence in Emergency’ by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. The person should be familiar with audits, invoices and budget preparations. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. You should also have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks. Ultimately, Finance Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and procedures of GBViE Project.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare, maintain & update books of accounts (Voucher, Cash book, bank book, ledger etc.)
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and yearly cash financial reports (Income expenditure reports, balance sheet, bank reconciliation, cash flow etc.).
  • Preparation other on-demand reports as requested by donor.
  • Maintain the records and documents for Audit facilitation.
  • Cash Transfer activity management & Reporting:
  • Monthly and yearly fund request preparation and submission to donor according to Budget allocation
  • Maintain appropriate records, reports and necessary documents relating to the cash transfer activities in the area. Provide a variety of statistical information as appropriate.
  • Arrange payments to the respective vendors;
  • Initiate, develop and adapt effective internal control system;
  • Set up, classify and maintain appropriate files in the office. Ensure proper supplies of materials; manage office premises, vehicles and inventories;
  • Provide assistance to all staff; manage entitlements and benefits, including travel claims, leave, etc;
  • Keep all relevant documentation and updated records of all transactions according to accounts manual.

Person specification

  • Completed university degree (post-graduate) from an accredited academic institution preferably in Accounting, Finance or other related fields;
  • More than 2 years of experience in Account and administration section in NGO will be preferable.
  • Experienced and skilled in budget preparation; budget control, expenditure and procurement; book keeping; banking; inventory management; logistical support; VAT/Tax; financial reporting and documentation.
  • Excellent command over written and oral Bangla and English with computer literacy on MS word, excel, power point and internet using.
  • Ability to manage a complex and varied work load and to work under pressure – Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
