A protesting human chain and rally was formed on August 18, 2018 at Noakhali Press Club premises in demand of the trial and punishment of accused UP Chair Mozammel Hossain. This event was organized by different human rights organizations active in Noakhali demanding fair investigation of the incident, abducting and torturing a teenage schoolgirl brutally by the UP Chairman and declared that their movement would continue till proper action is taken against the convicted chairman.

The speakers said, the incidents of violation of human rights in Subarnchar upazila are alarmingly increasing day by day and these crimes are being dared and committed by the nourished local perpetrators of the ruling political party. Abducting a teenage girl from her own house at 9.00 of night though there was no village court running and brutally beat her to faint is absolutely similar to primitive barbarism, speakers added.
