Participatory Research & Action Network -PRAAN held its Annual General Meeting 2025 today January 17, 2026 Saturday at Nich Guest House, Noakhali. The meeting was chaired by PRAAN Chairman A. B. M. Fazlul Haque Badal and focused on reviewing the organization’s achievements over the past year and setting strategic priorities for 2026.

During the AGM, PRAAN presented and reviewed its annual activity report, financial audit report, and operational budget. The Board discussed and approved the Plan of Action for 2026, along with several key organizational policies, including the Table of Authorization, Emergency Procurement Policy, Cost Sharing Policy, and the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Policy. A number of standing and thematic committees were also approved to strengthen institutional governance and accountability.
A Leadership Development and Succession Plan was presented as part of PRAAN’s commitment to sustainable organizational growth and effective leadership transition.
The AGM also marked the election of a new Executive Committee. Mr. Gawher Nayeem Wahra was elected as Chairperson of PRAAN. Dr. Qazi Zahed Iqbal was elected as Co-Chair, Mr. Nurul Alam Masud as Secretary, Ms. Tandra Barua as Joint Secretary, Mr. Amal Krishno Odhikary as Treasurer, and Advocate Kolpona Rani Das and Ms. Owakila Tabassum Mumu as Executive Members.

Board members commended PRAAN’s leadership and team for their work and achievements over the past year and reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the approved plans and recommendations to further strengthen the organization’s impact in 2026.
The Annual General Meeting concluded with the formal transition of responsibilities from outgoing Chairperson A. B. M. Fazlul Haque Badal to the newly elected Chairperson, Mr. Gawher Nayeem Wahra.
